Letter from 2016 Scholarship Recipient Hannah Daniel, Signal Mountain High School

I am writing to express my sincere gratitude to you for making the Dr. Joseph and Betty Johnson Endowed Scholarship possible. I was thrilled to learn of my selection for this honor and I am deeply appreciative of your support. The University of Alabama has always been the school of my dreams, and by receiving this scholarship, this dream is now a reality.

I am currently planning on becoming a Nursing major. Upon graduating from the University of Alabama, I hope to pursue a career as a nurse practitioner. Becoming a nurse will allow me to positively impact people’s lives every day. While attending UA, I will find opportunities to become involved in the community through its Honors College and other prestigious clubs. Becoming involved in my community is something I wish to continue in my time living in Tuscaloosa. I want to make sure that helping others remains a crucial part of my life. The financial assistance you provided will be of great help to me in paying my educational expenses, and it will allow me to concentrate more of my time for studying.

Thank you again for your generosity and support. I promise you I will work very hard and eventually give something back to others, both as nurse and possibly a scholarship to future students like myself. Being given the opportunity to attend such a prestigious university is something that I will forever cherish and will never be taken for granted.
