Dinner with Barrett Jones was a tremendous success. Sprinkled with some humor, Barrett told a bit of his history in sports and his life. As he told the crowd, he is a strategic person which has helped him achieve his goals. As he explained, we ultimately must have a purpose in our lives and how we execute the “process’ determines our success in reaching that purpose.
The University of Alabama National Alumni Association President, Linda Thomas, represented The University and addressed the crowd with amazing statistics about the size of the student body. The number of incoming freshmen for 2018 is not complete yet, but last year the number exceeded 7,000. It appears the student body enrollment should exceed 38,000 this year. Linda pointed out Kayla White from the NAA office who was in attendance. Kayla will lead personalize tours of the campus for any prospective student who contacts her, even if that student might not think she or he has an interest in Alabama. Once they see the campus, the hook is set on their heart.
Chapter President, Steve Reno presented award certificates to Mona Allday, Maxine McKenzie and Dee Dee Womack for outstanding commitment and service to the Chapter. As Steve reported it is dedication like theirs that makes the things we do successful. Their effort is much appreciated.
